Because of the support of our members, DPF has played a major role in educating the public about the inherent costs associated with the death penalty-- moral, judicial, and financial.

Although California’s Prop 34 lost by a slim margin, the campaign educated millions of voters. Together, a powerful coalition of law enforcement professionals, victims' family members, innocent exonerees, faith leaders, taxpayers and human rights leaders changed the landscape of the modern movement to end the death penalty. It will take a little longer, but we will win. We are stronger than ever and more determined. We will continue to work together for justice that works for everyone.
